Hi everyone,
I got an email the other day from Mark Lipinski,
asking me if I could share the
quilt contest on my blog.
( Yeah!! Mark Lipinski emailed me!!! LOL!!!)
I thought it was a wonderful contest to share.
It is open to anyone in the world,
and the Grand Prize is a Handi Quilter.
Here is a bit of what Marc sent me.
In 2006, the Alliance for American Quilt held sponsored its first annual quilt contest, titled “Put A Roof Over Our Heads”. The winner of that year’s grand prize, chosen from 74 house-shaped entries, was “Our House” created by Keti Kasrashvili, Irina Lavrinenko, Nino Chargeishvili from Tbilisi, The Republic of Georgia.
Some much happened at the Alliance for American Quilt in the last six years. With the help of an expanding roster of members, contributors and volunteers, we’re doing more than ever to fulfill our mission to “preserve and share stories of quilts and their makers from every era” through projects like The Quilt Index, Quilt Treasures, and Quilters S.O.S. – Save Our Stories. It’s an exciting time to be part of the Alliance!
The Alliance welcomes the participation of quilters from around the globe in all our activities, including our recently announced quilt contest, “Home Is Where the Quilt Is”. The 2012 contest features the same type of house-shaped mini-quilts that inspired our first 2006 contest and some truly spectacular prizes, including a Handi-Quilter machine quilting system! Home really is where the quilt is, so no matter if your home is in Tennessee or Turkey, Connecticut or Canada, Idaho or Iceland, we invite YOU to enter a quilt in the Alliance for American Quilt‘s 2012 Quilt Contest and are eligible to win prizes!
Thank you!
Mark Lipinski
So, go on and read more about it on their site found here.
I think you would love to join.
